One of the older fry I have is starting to show markings. This guy is about 2 months old. Just wondering if this one looks like an endlers? I'm also puzzled with the vertical marking on its side. There are no guppies on its tank, only two female endlers. So if this is not a "pure" endlers then either I got a hybrid female or maybe a female guppy (my question on my other post). There are also no male endlers on the tank as I have lost them to a tank disaster last December.

Here are some of its photos (sorry for the crappy photos, it's hard to photograph a constantly moving tiny subject Smile ):

Two photos showing both its side, the belly spot sometimes fades but brightens up during feeding. You can barely see that it is starting to develop the sword at the bottom tail.

Thanks,

You got these Endlers from Andy right?
As long as you only keep pure endlers in that tank then all the fry would be pure endlers... That vertical marking in my opinion is sometimes produced by Peacock and Blackbar strain.. Campoma guppies and some TYS Ive seen in some photographs have vertical black band marking in the mid portion of the body like that as well...

The photos seems to be a developing male with a vertical black band from your Black bar... I cant judge the female in your other post, I myself cannot determine the differences between endlers & guppy females...

Yup! Got them from Andy. Just curious if they're pure endlers. But, whether pure or not, they are surely beautiful! I'm just getting more and more interested in endlers. They are now my favorites. Hahaha...

Just to document the coloration progress of my endler fry, here's a couple of its most recent photo.

For reference, here is a photo of the adult male endler I lost. I'm not sure though if this is the father of the fry as the female gave birth in about 2 weeks after I got them. As you can see, the fry doesn't look like my previous endler.

Hi Eric
Yes He is Pure!! He is a Peacock Tail that is why he looks slightly different than the adults I sold you. He is just now starting to color up. As he matures he will look more like the adults. My strain throws both Peacock and without.

Hi Andy! Thanks for the info. Didn't know I also have the Peacock strain. Wooohooo!!! Very Happy

What do you call the strain of the adult endlers in the photo above? I wasn't able to ask you anything about the endlers when I got them as I don't know anything about them at that time. But like what I've mentioned in my earlier post, they are now becoming my favorite. I actually don't want to put any guppies in their tank as I want to preserve the wild strains. Smile

Thats a Black bar male

Swerte mo tol! ( you're so lucky!) That's netting 2 tanks in 1 net haha see I told you... Go buy some wood and make a rack to accomodate another tank for that peacock... Im sure youve got virgin females to pair with that...

Just want to update this thread to show the progress of my endlers. Smile

Here is an endlers that is different from the others. It does not have a vertical black bar and belly dot. What is has is a faint black horizontal stripe under the red stripe. I'm keeping an eye on the development of this one.
